Who are these classes for?

The Practical Pet Protocol group dog training class is designed to go a step beyond the average group obedience class by teaching functional obedience to dogs and their families in Columbus and surrounding areas.

What makes our Columbus group dog training classes the best?

  • Your dog will learn all the basic obedience commands: sit, stay, down, heel, come and place.
  • You will learn how to use basic commands to prevent and resolve dog behavior problems. You’ll put this information to good use for the rest of your dog-owning life!
  • You’ll also learn how to build a good relationship between you and your dog, so that you can positively influence your dog’s behavior in the future.
  • Real-world simulations, including distractions such as the table, a public environment, etc.
  • Resources such as a 40+ page book to reference beyond the classroom, and a mobile app to help you and your dog practice together.

The following dogs are not appropriate for group classes at this time:

  • Dogs who are leash reactive/aggressive
  • Dogs who are currently experiencing behavior problems such as aggression, anxiety, or extreme fearfulness/nervousness. (These are great candidates for our in-home dog training programs)

Our highly skilled, professional dog trainer, Kat Laclede will be the instructor of the The Practical Pet Protocol in the Columbus area. Kat has been training dogs for several years and she was trained under John Van Olden at Canine Trade Group. The methods used by Kat and all Canine Trade Group Trainers has been proven to be successful for over 26 years! If you are interested in our in-home training please contact us to learn more about that option.
